Optimizing Caching and Compression in ISPmanager

To improve your website's performance in ISPmanager, you can activate caching and compression options for static content. This will help reduce the overall server load and speed up page loading times. These settings are available when you have a Nginx proxy server installed and in use.

Compression

Enabling this setting allows you to compress static files, such as images, videos, music, and others, using the gzip method. This reduces the amount of transmitted data significantly.

  1. Go to the "Websites" section.
  2. Double-click on the domain you want to edit (or select the domain and click "Edit" - "Change").
  3. In the "Optimization and DDoS Protection" section, choose the desired compression level from 1 (minimum) to 9 (maximum, but with higher CPU load). It's recommended to choose a moderate level, for example, "5". You can always adjust this setting later if needed.
  4. Click "Save".

Caching

Caching allows you to store the results of operations performed when loading a website for a specific period of time. This allows you to serve users with cached content instead of re-executing the operations.

  1. Open the "Websites" section.
  2. Double-click on the domain you want to edit (or select the domain and click "Edit" - "Change").
  3. Go to the "Optimization and DDoS Protection" section and enable the "Configure caching" option.
  4. Choose the time interval during which data will be stored in the cache. By default, ISPmanager suggests caching data every 24 hours. If you want to keep data for a week, for example, set the period to "day" and specify a value of "7".
  5. Configure which types of files will be cached (you can leave the default values).
  6. Click "Save".

Remember that if changes are made to files on the site that are stored in the cache, users will continue to receive old data until the specified caching period expires.
