Changes in SSL/TLS Certificate Validity Periods

News and announcements

We are informing you of changes in SSL/TLS certificate issuance policies from leading Certificate Authorities.

Starting from February 24 (for DigiCert) and from March 14 (for Sectigo), all SSL/TLS certificates, including previously created but not completed orders, are issued for a period of no more than 199 days, even if a longer period was selected during checkout.

This means that certificate reissue will need to be performed every 199 days.

Important to note:

  • Already issued certificates remain valid until their expiration date — no action is required.
  • Upon reissue, the new certificate will be issued for a maximum of 199 days.
  • 1-year certificates are still available. The changes only affect the reissue period, not the total subscription duration.

We will send notifications regarding the need for reissue in advance. If the certificate is not replaced manually, the system will automatically submit it for reissue using the current CSR 3 days before the expiration date. In this case, domain re-validation will be required.

Changes to Code Signing Certificates

From February 24, 2026 (DigiCert) and from February 23, 2026 (Sectigo), Code Signing certificates will be issued for a maximum of 459 days instead of the previous term of up to 39 months.
